Instructions

Motivate your children to make scriptures a priority this summer.  You can administer the challenge in any way you feel is appropriate for your family.  These reading charts and certificates are meant to facilitate a fun and exciting Christ-centered summer.

  1. Download the appropriate chart for your situation.
  2. Start the Challenge!  Discuss the challenge with your family.  Set appropriate rewards.  We have provided a Family Home Evening (download below) that some families may want to use to kick-off the fun.
  3. Read the Book of Mormon throughout the summer and mark your chart.
  4. Come back on or after August 10th, 2010 and we will have a live submission form where you can submit the names, ages and photos of those who have completed the challenge.  Names and photos will be posted to our Wall of Honor.  Eligible participants may receive a $5 or $10 gift code from DeseretBook.com.  See Challenge Rules.
  5. Download and fill out a Certificate of Achievement for each person who completes the challenge.  You may want to frame the certificate or save it in a journal.
  6. Celebrate your success!  Follow through with the rewards you set for your family.

What reading format qualifies for the reading challenge? Parents should set appropriate guidelines for their children.  Children can read in the standard works, online at scriptures4kids.com, in the church's scripture readers or parents can read to younger children in appropriate "scripture" books.
